Day-of-Conference Volunteering
If you've attended a Red Pencil conference, you know that day-of-conference volunteers are essential to a successful event, and we would love to have you involved! Day-of-conference volunteers will receive a reduced-price conference registration (a discount of $68—one half of the early bird registration price for Guild members). in exchange for attending an online volunteer coordination meeting and volunteering for part of the day. In addition to the discount, volunteering provides a great opportunity to meet other editors and get involved in the Guild.
Volunteer tasks may include
setting up before the conference and cleaning up after the conference
assisting with attendee check-in and coat check
providing presenter support
staffing the Guild information table
assisting exhibitors with their tables (watching tables during absences)
making presenter introductions
supporting presentations (timekeeping, Q&A assistance, and survey collection)
event photography
providing other event support (running errands and other administrative tasks)
Tasks will be assigned so as to allow volunteers to attend sessions of interest, but we cannot guarantee this.
Volunteers will be assigned tasks based on need and other factors, but if you have an interest in particular tasks, please let us know.
Volunteers will be given a discount code for registration after acceptance or will receive a partial refund if already registered.
If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please email conference@edsguild.org.
